Who takes care of the cemeteries?
There are two cemeteries situated right next to each other, on the east of town. One is the Georgetown Cemetery, taken care of by the Georgetown Cemetery Board. Jeff Slavik is the contact. The other Forest Park Cemetery. The contact is Dan Maquet.
Does the city accept debit or credit cards for payment?
You can pay your water bill on our website with a debit or credit card. At the city hall, you can pay with cash, check, or money order. If you are paying for a water deposit, permit, or fees you will have to have cash, check, or money order.
What is the $40 non-payment fee?
The $40 non-payment fee is added if your water bill is not paid by 4:30 pm on the LAST BUSINESS DAY before shut off. If shut off is on a Monday, it must be paid by 4:30 pm on Friday. If shut off is on a Wednesday, it would need to be paid by 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
Does the City of Georgetown have a dog catcher?
The City of Georgetown does not currently have a dog catcher. If there is a stray animal in your yard, please call the Vermilion County Animal Control at 217-431-2660.
